The Riggsbee Farm pool opens Saturday, l\/lay 21“, for the 2011 season, and it is looking good! Building on last year’s bathroom updates, the inside of the pool house has been patched and painted, and the floor has been textured. On the pool deck, two new shelters have been added to provide shade. Hanging out at the pool should be more fun than ever this year, but it is up to the residents to ensure that a good time is had by all. Please read the attached pool rules with your family, and be considerate of your neighbors at the pool facilities.
The RF Homeowners’ board received feedback over the last pool season and at the most recent HOA meeting that enjoyment of the pool facilities was lessened due to the behavior of a few underage, unsupervised resident children. Several homeowners indicated they stopped using the pool altogether due to the disruption. Our pool is for the enjoyment of all Riggsbee Farm resideets, and the pool rules are not optional. lt is not up to you as a parent to decide that your under-14 child is mature enough to be at the pool without your supervision.
At the HOA meeting we discussed requiring resident children under 16 to get NC state-issued lDs, creating our own photo ID Riggsbee Farm passes for resident teenagers, and requiring all residents to wear armbands. These ideas all seem to place a burden on residents who are not causing problems.
If you are at the Riggsbee Farm pool and are concerned for the safety of unattended children or disturbed by their behavior, you can take the following actions:
- Remind the children that they must be 14 years of age to be at the Riggsbee Farm pool without a parent. lf possible, determine the identity of the children and where they live. Please remember to speak respectfully to your neighbors’ children.
- Call Tammy Williams at PPM, our property management company. The phone number will be posted at the pool. PPM will send a letter to the family and inform them that they are at risk of' losing their pool privileges.
- lf you believe a situation warrants outside involvement, call the Cary Police Department.
- You can contact Riggsbee Farm HOA board members at any time using contact information on riggsbeefarm.com.
Remember that the Riggsbee Farm pool rules are for the safety of all our residents and guests. Have a great time at the pool!
Sincerely, The Riggsbee Farm Homeowners’ Association Board
